January 27 - 31, 2010
If you haven't been to a USPC Annual Meeting before, this would be a great time to start an annual family tradition. USPC Annual Meetings include workshops for Volunteer Leaders and Active Members, which include top-notch speakers like Gina Miles an “A” graduate United States Pony Clubber herself and most recently the 2008 Olympic Silver Medal Winner for Individual Competition.
Who would want to miss learning about Course Design from Richard Lamb? – ratings workshops run by USPC National Examiners - Games that Teach from the HM Committee - and a hands-on Anatomy Lab run by Dr. Brad Gordon and his able assistant Cindy Healy (who just happens to be a volunteer VRS in USPC!)
Younger members have a track of their very own in the Pony Paddock and older active members have a special place to network and enjoy meeting new friends in the Teen Lounge. If you've attended an Annual Meeting in the past you'll enjoy the new offerings in the workshops.
In short, there is something for everyone at the USPC’s Annual Meeting in Houston! Don't let the fact that the largest Rodeo in the US is held here fool you! Houston is a very diverse city. Besides the world class shopping and fine dining in the Galleria area, Houston is home to NASA, the 4th largest museum district in the world, Hermann Park, The Battleship Texas near The San Jacinto Monument, and home to over 200 consulates for foreign countries. You can come early to enjoy a day at the Space Center Houston, or take a day trip to Galveston Island that offers Gulf beaches, golf, fishing, boating, birding and even horseback riding! (just an hour's drive from the hotel), or stay late to sample other great friendly Texas cities such as Austin, Dallas, or San Antonio. Y’all come on; we’d love to have you join us in Houston, TX for the 2010 USPC Annual Meeting!
