It's The United States Pony Club's 2012 Annual Meeting and Convention,  and there's no better place to celebrate than in New Orleans - home to the  unique music, parades, history, and charm. Not only is New Orleans the perfect setting for USPC's Annual Meeting celebration, but educational programs and equine networking opportunities will abound.

The Deep South Region is very excited to be hosting the 2012 USPC Annual Meeting in New Orleans.  To commemorate this event we will be offering a Purple Polo shirt with the 2012 Annual Meeting Logo stitched on the front; or a White T-shirt with the specially designed New Orleans based theme printed on the back. Since they have decided to carry a very limited supply of these shirts at the meeting, they wanted to give all of you who have registered the chance to preorder either of these shirts and they will have them ready for you at the Annual Meeting.

Airport to Hotel Transportation

Motion Transportation, LLC, is a locally owned and operated shuttle/charter service based in New Orleans. They are offering a special rate of $36.00 round-trip, $20.00 one-way, shuttle transportation to the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel. The average cab fare is $33.00 for one person, one-way, so the rate of the shuttle service is quite reasonable. Shuttles will be scheduled according to arrivals, with a twenty minute wait time between shuttles. For example: if a passenger arrives at 1:00 pm and the next passenger is not scheduled until 1:27, the later passenger will be transported on the next shuttle. In addition, Motion Transportation does not combine passengers from one conference with passengers with another, so you will be transported directly to your hotel.

 Advance reservations (at least 72 hours in advance), and pre-payment are required, due to City of New Orleans ordinances and Taxicab Bureau regulations. Once a reservation is submitted on our website, the site automatically redirects the viewer to our PayPal site, where they can pay with credit or debit card. If they client uses American Express, we process those payments over the phone, as well as those who have problems with PayPal for what ever reason.

Once a reservation is made, A customer service representative will email the client a confirmation, which will include all of the necessary information on locating us within the airport, and time of pickup for departure from their hotel.

Excellent Learning Opportunities: 30 plus workshops & seminars,  the Equine Research Fair returns this year for our science and knowledge-oriented members along with  the Pony Club Paddock. Some exciting new programs !!!

 

The Equine Extravaganza: The faculty of the Louisiana State University's Equine Health Studies Program will host a scientific poster session in conjunction with the USPC Annual Meeting and will assist in our new and exciting program for our C's and up Pony Club members.

 

Auctions: Participate in our Silent Auction with over 50 items to be offered and get caught up in the excitement of our Live Auction at the Mardi Gras Ball.

 

Mardi Gras Banquet: You are invited to a true New Orleans Gala. Starting with our  reception which will include a Dixie Land  jazz band! Then join us for a dinner serving traditional New Orleans delicacies while enjoying our keynote speaker. Now the fun is just beginning!! Immediately following our dinner, dance the night away at our masked ball, in true New Orleans style. (see Social Events for details)

 Trade Fair: Visit over 30 vendors including some of our national sponsors for all your equine needs and wants as well as our USPC bookstore.

DC's and their guests: You are invited to a little taste of Mardi Gras. You and your guests will be throwing beads from a Bourbon Street balcony in the heart of the French Quarter.   (see Social Events for details).

 

Equine & Plantation Tour: Join us for a trip up the Mighty Mississippi to tour the LSU Equine Center and two of the South's most famous Plantations. You will also be treated to a true Cajun lunch at Lafitte's Landing.
